Man was created on terms of equality with God… Christian is as much the incarnation of God as was Jesus… Jesus was tortured by demons for three days before God declared from heaven its enough Christ’s physical death on the cross was not enough to save us… So Hagin under the guise of the (rhema) prophetic word introduced such teachings: Today we have the rhema prophetic word to guide us. This allowed Hagin the freedom to expound teachings not included in scripture, all in the guise of the New NOW prophetic word. Like all modern teaching you can guess which took precedence over the other. Suddenly God now speaks with two prophetic words rather than one. By doing this Hagin laid down a new world view that presented to the church the Bible (logos) and the prophetic (rhema) Many Pentecostals and Charismatic leaders were led to embrace this subjective definition and thus separate their experiences on a day to day basis from that which was contained within the scriptures. The believer was then guided by specific words, experiences, impressions and inner feelings. While rhema became the voice of God to the believer at any present moment. The Bible then becomes a book which contains general information applicable to all but not necessarily specific guidance. (b)The great commission to preach the gospel was still relevant to all. Notice also that it was spoken by the Holy Spirit and not written. This would be seen as the rhema word (Specific to Paul) and yet it is not rhema that gets used but LOGOS. (a)The Holy Spirit forbid Paul and his companions to enter Asia.
“ Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word (logos) in Asia, After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not” Again keep this in mind as we proceed.Īcts 16:6-7 is presented as an example of this case.
Others make a clear difference in so far as rhema is specifically that which is spoken, while logos are purely the written word of God. If we keep this in mind when looking at the evidence which I will present, we will see this definition does not hold true. The famous saying spoken by many is that “ God has a rhema word for you”īY DEFINITION: THE RHEMA IS A SPECIFIC WORD FROM GOD TO A SPECIFIC PERSON AT A SPECIFIC TIME. Today we can have Rhema FM radio, Rhema ranch, Rhema Theatre Company a rhema Basketball team, and rhema churches with rhema boys and girls clubs. The concept of the “rhema” became the flagship of Hagins doctrines. Only God knows the eternal consequences for Kenneth Hagin and the many who have chosen to follow this man. Many within the Pentecostal movement then went and bowed down before this idol, Hundreds were decieved by this man. Kenneth Hagin took what was an obscure Greek word and turned it into an idol.
